Tick-Borne Virus: Now new virus havoc in China, seven killed, 60 infected

The war of the world with the Coronavirus, which originated from the city of Wuhan, China, is still continuing that another new virus has spread its foot there. 7 people have lost their lives due to this new infectious disease, while 60 others have been found infected.

According to Chinese government media, a warning has also been issued about the spread of this new infectious disease caused by the tick-borne virus from one man to another.

According to the report of the government newspaper Global Times, more than 37 people were exposed to the SFTS virus in the first half of this year in East China’s Jiangsu state. After this, 23 people were found infected in Anhui state of eastern China as well.

A woman suffering from this new virus first showed fever, cough-like symptoms in Nanjing, the capital of Jiangsu. Doctors also noticed a drop in leukocyte and blood platelets in her body during the examination. The woman was discharged after one month of treatment in the hospital.

The report said that at least seven people have died in Anhui and Zhejiang state of eastern China so far due to the SFTS virus. However, SFTS is not a new virus. Bunyavirus-class viruses were isolated by China in 2011 from pathogenic pathogens.

Virologists believe that the infection of this virus can spread from one person to another. Sheng Jiefang, a doctor at the hospital affiliated to the University of Zhejiang, said the possibility of human-to-human transmission of the virus cannot be sidelined. The infected patient can spread the virus to others.

However, doctors have said that as long as people remain alert, there is no need to panic with the infection of such viruses.
