Star India bags Indian Premier league global media rights for five years.

Star India on Monday bagged the Indian Premier League global media rights for the period of 2018 to 2022.  Star India has put back Sony with a bid of worth Rs 16,347.50 crore.  The BCCI  will now earn double the amount in half of the duration. Surprisingly BCCI will earn more in an IPL match when compared to an International Match India plays.

“Our main endeavor to the stakeholders was to provide a transparent process where there should not be any iota of doubt.” said by BCCI CEO Rahul Johri.
