India in Women’s T20 World Cup Final. England ‘washed’ out of the contest.
Indian women’s cricket team entered their first-ever T20 World Cup final.
after rain gods washed away the semi-final clash in Sydney against England. Certainly, an exciting day for Indian Cricket fans all over the world with our Women’s team sweeps through all four games back to back with a win, securing their spot in the finals. There was no reserve day for the semis in the ongoing tournament as the Cricket Australia’s request for a reserve day was declined by the International Cricket Council on Wednesday. The last time these two battled it out in the field, India had lost to England by eight wickets. England bagged the champions title in 2009, and India had never won the T20 World Cup title despite having reached the semi-final thrice in the past. This time around, our women in blue shined through all the matches leaving Indian cricket enthusiasts with a glimmer of hope. However, a big test awaits as India will now face the winner of the second semi-final to be played between South Africa and Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground. If the rains do not subside, South Africa will qualify for the final. If at all it rains in Melbourne on Sunday, the ICC scheduled a reserve day. However, If both days are met with rains then India and their opponent will have to share the 2020 ICC Women’s World T20 Trophy. So come on India, let’s come together and cheer for India’s victory!
