India beats China, becomes a part of the UN’s ECOSOC body

India has been chosen as a member of the United Nation’s Commission on Status of Women, a body of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), said TS Tirumurti, lasting agent of India to the United Nations, on Monday.

India, Afghanistan, and China had challenged the races to the Commission on Status of Women. Indeed, even as India and Afghanistan won the polling form among the 54 individuals, China couldn’t cross the midway imprint.

Taking to Twitter, TS Tirumurti stated, “India wins seat in renowned ECOSOC body! India chose individuals from the Commission on Status of Women (CSW).
