Ponmagal Vandhal is the new film of Jyotika which released on Amazon Prime video today, i.e. 29th of May 2020.

The movie is one of the few Tamil movies to be led by a female actor. Apart from Jyotika the film also features R Parthiban, K Bhagyaraj, Pandiarajan, Pratap Pothen and Thiagarajan. The film is directed by JJ Fredrick and is a courtroom drama where Jyotika is playing the role of Venba who is fighting for justice.

Jyotika in an interview called this phase of her life in terms of the acting career the second innings. She said now that she is a mother, she wants to do movies which have an impact on society, though we are used to seeing her in glamorous roles, she wants to do movies that are content driven.

The trailer with such a serious role like hers garnered 20 million views which are quite close to any other Tamil movie which is led by a male actor.

The film is looking extremely engaging and has been liked by the critics and as well as the audiences. The audience is praising the screenplay, the story and the acting of all the actors and also the directing talents of the debutant director JJ Fredrick who has worked with an ensemble cast.
