10-Year Old girl enters Guinness record.
A 10-year old school girl entered the Guinness Book or World Records after she performed a yoga posture for 174 seconds.
Harsha Nivetha, 10, daughter of Karthikumar and Jyothi of BB Nathavanam in Virudhunagar district, Madurai, is studying in class 5 in a private school in the area. She attempted the record on her school premises, where she stood in the Utthitha Padmasana posture continuously for 174 seconds, breaking the previous record held of 90 seconds held by an American.
The young girl said she was extremely happy to have entered the Guinness records. She said that she had been learning yoga since she was five years and though this posture was easy holding it for long is not that easy. She even said that she had practiced well before attempting to break the previous record.
She attempted the record in the presence of the Malaysia director of the International Yoga Federation of Asia, G Radhakrishnan, two government doctors and other officials. Radhakrishnan later told media persons that Nivetha had broken the previous record achieved by an American. The girl had already figured in various record books for different performances.
School secretary Koodalingam, Yoga instructor Indhra and Principal Shanthi were all present to witness their student performing the feat. The child was confident enough before she started performing the feat and since she practised well she entered the Guinness records for her hard work.
